For many years I have worked in tech, and being the only black female in many boardroom meetings, you almost become conditioned to be strong, assertive and pretty much coined the "angry black woman" tittle. However, I have always been a girly girl at heart, and the "black woman are strong" narrative may be true but it doesn't mean we are not soft, of course we are, in fact we draw strength from our softness. Which is why it is incredibly important to create beautiful, calming, luxurious spaces and moments in our homes to allow us to decompress, be delicate and enjoy our truest selves.
